Machining / Laser / Fabrication
The UK CNC machining and CNC laser departments supply two fabrication departments with the required components on a daily basis. The fabrication departments offer a wide range of services from brake press bending, to projection/ spot welding through to welding and grinding. These departments are all managed by an MRP II system and production controllers daily to ensure parts are available internally and externally on time. Sales range from one off orders to daily customer forecasts.
- Manufacturing Resource Planning II generated route cards control the order of production with electronic Shop Floor Data Collection in operation.
- Traceability of work from receipt of material through goods inwards, CNC laser cutting, brake press bending, the manufacture of fabricated assemblies to painting, finishing and assembly.
- FMEAs’ produced to minimise the opportunity for errors occurring during the sheet metal fabrication process.
- Standard Operating procedures developed to control the sheet metal fabrication through each process.
- Range of punch and laser cutting machines, brake press machines (up to 4m), projection & spot welding produce various parts.
- Coded manual welding procedures created and approved to British standards as required.
- Fully qualified and annually assessed MIG and TIG welders for use on steel, aluminium and stainless steel.
- Robotic welding for higher volume production runs.
- Welding jigs for part repeatability, monitored by Statistical Process Control (SPC) measurements.
- Grinding, finish dressing and a full fettling service to complete or prepare sheet metal fabrication for finishing.
- New Job Introduction in place to dimensionally check that sheet metal fabrication meet requirements.
- SPC carried out by in house inspection team using the latest Faro 3D measuring equipment.
UK Sheet metal fabrication specialists in a number of areas ranging from construction and other yellow goods, military, refuse vehicle and railway fabrications to underground walkways, gaming machines and point of display fabricated assemblies.
