Our range of robotic and manual welding services focus on Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding but extend into Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) projection and spot welding to ISO 9001 and British Standards.
With a team of fully qualified and annually assessed MIG and TIG welders we offer an exceptional welding service bringing together our full range of CNC laser cutting, punching, bending, turning and machining components.
MIG welding is a versatile and fast turnaround method that can be used on a broad range of materials and thicknesses and easily automated for high volume and repeat fabrications. It uses a spool of continuously fed wire meaning high quality welds can be produced much faster. Since MIG uses a shielding gas there is very little loss of alloying elements and only minor weld spatter is produced reducing clean up time when compared to stick welding.
TIG welding is a slower process than MIG but offers enhanced control and stronger welds on light metals such as aluminium, and thin steel sheet metal. Ensuring consistent quality standards requires more human input from skilled operators and less automation than is possible with MIG welding.
Our welding capability extends to various other methods and techniques including projection and spot welding, coded manual welding procedures to British Standards, robotic welding ideal for high volume production runs and creation of welding jigs for part repeatability, monitored via Faro 3D by SPC measurements. We currently have 13 FANUC robot MIG welding cells which deliver consistent quality and offer reliability and efficiency by helping to reduce set-up times and maintain high-speeds throughout.
